This treatment uses anticancer orcell-killing drugs designed to interfere with and halt the growth of cancer cells in the body that helps to fight cancer in the body. The aim of chemo is killing cancerous cells and to stop the rapid growth of the cancer cells in the patient’s body. This type of treatment for blood cancer may be given before or after cell transplants, and may use a set of several drugs, and takes a toll on the body.

Radiation
This type of treatment may be used to destroy cancer cells or to relieve pain or discomfort. It may also be given before a cell transplant that destroys the cancer cells through the use of high-energy radiation that helps to kill cancer cells. Radiation uses high energy X-rays or other particles from an external machine to kill cancerous cells and shrink tumors.

Blood Cancer Treatment - Post-Procedure

The aim of most of the blood cancer treatments but not all – is to achieve remission which means that the cancer cells in your body have gone. Once your treatment is over, your healthcare team will do more tests, similar to the ones you had when you were diagnosed to check if there are any cancer cell left in the blood.

The risk and complications of blood cancer may vary in each case. Different people have different responses to their respective treatment.
